In this guide, Gooey Events Limited delves into several thrilling indoor activities that keep your little ones amused and learning. So, let's look at these activities, each designed to be enjoyable and educational.
Cooking Quests: Culinary Fun and Skill Building Don't underestimate the educational value of cooking with your kids. Not only does this activity engage them, but it also helps them learn basic math and science concepts. Using easy-to-follow recipes can make it fun and manageable. To add a twist, you can download free online templates to create attractive posters showcasing your child's latest dish, fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride. Artistic Mural Crafting: An Avenue for Individuality Engaging in artistic activities like poster-making can be a transformative experience for children, allowing them to express their unique perspectives. And if you’re looking for a way to make eye-catching visuals to add to your posters, the online version of Photoshop can be a big help. Once the posters are complete, they can become a centerpiece in your child's bedroom, symbolizing their creative abilities and inspiring them to continue with their artistic endeavors. Diary Writing: Self-Exploration and Introspection Introducing your kids to journaling can be a game-changer for their emotional intelligence. Supply them with vibrant journals and a set of colorful pens to make the activity more engaging. Make it a daily or weekly ritual, perhaps discussing the day's entry over dinner. This can be a meaningful practice that evolves with them through their life stages. Virtual Classrooms: Educational Content at Your Fingertips Websites like Khan Academy offer a valuable supplement to your children's formal education. These online platforms provide interactive courses in various subjects, ideal for remote-working parents seeking additional educational resources. It's an excellent way to make screen time productive and keep them engaged in academic pursuits even when school's out. Knitting: Unravel Their Imagination Knitting is a wonderful activity that can engage kids in a multitude of ways while imparting valuable life skills. This timeless craft channels their creativity and fosters patience and perseverance as they navigate the intricate process of creating something beautiful from a simple strand of yarn. Children learn essential skills like hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and pattern recognition through knitting. It also encourages self-expression, as children can choose colors and designs that resonate with their unique personalities. Construction Challenges: A Foray Into STEM Toys like LEGO sets do more than entertain; they are educational tools that encourage STEM learning. Building projects from scratch fosters an understanding of engineering concepts, even at a rudimentary level. By investing in such activities, you're planting the seeds for future engineers, architects, or designers. Indoor Wilderness Adventures: Take the Camping Experience Indoors Recreate the camping experience within your four walls by constructing a makeshift campsite. Once the tents are up (or blankets are hung), gather around for some storytelling. The aim is to educate your children about the wilderness and instill in them a love for nature, all while in the safety and comfort of your home. This roundup of handpicked indoor activities provides a spectrum of entertaining and educational options for your children. From culinary exploration and artistic ventures to digital classrooms and family game nights, these activities are engineered to enrich your child's life in a meaningful way. Minimalist Vegan notes that vegan businesses have become much more in demand in recent years as consumers find the benefits of utilizing animal-free, eco-friendly services, and products, and while they can be more successful in certain areas of the country than others, starting a vegan business can still be a lucrative endeavor that allows you to make a difference. You might become a vegan chef, create vegan beauty products, or design animal-free fashion options.
Whatever you choose to do with your business, there are a few important steps you’ll need to follow to launch your products or services and get them to the right customers, including finding the right resources to help you get started. Here are some essential tips on launching your vegan business. Write out a business plan to include your business structure Writing a business plan is crucial to the success of any new venture as it outlines the roadmap for achieving your business goals and objectives. It helps you identify potential challenges, opportunities and provides a clear direction for your company's growth. Look at some examples online to get a feel for everything you’ll need to include, such as your financial projections and funding needs. Choose a location that meets your needs Depending on the type of business you’re starting, your options for a location will vary. You might find it more convenient — and cost-efficient — to work out of your home, although you’ll need to find out what types of permits are required in your city. Renting a storefront or office space is a great way to get out into the community and ensure exposure, but again, the type of business you’re planning will determine what your needs are. Virgin.com suggests thinking about what you’ll need access to, such as a full kitchen or street parking vs. a parking lot. Create a marketing plan using videos, images, and SEO tools When you have a location and are ready to find customers, creating a marketing plan will ensure that you can reach your target audience. Your plan will need to be budget-friendly, so finding online tools that are free or low-cost is essential. Because one major aspect of marketing is creating a stellar website, you can utilize royalty-free stock video footage to boost your content and make it as engaging as possible. This is a great way to work in SEO tactics that will allow customers to easily find you through their web searches; take a look at how other businesses have utilized SEO. Keep your customers coming back With a great marketing plan, you can bring customers in; next, you’ll need to figure out how to keep them coming back. Vegan business owners often utilize other eco-friendly practices, such as energy conservation or packaging-free products; if you’re going to do the same, one great way to ensure customer loyalty is to make this part of your mission statement and marketing plan. However, anything you promise to your customers should be followed through if you want to keep them coming back. Make self-care a priority When starting a business, self-care is essential for maintaining physical and mental well-being as it can be an extremely stressful and demanding process. Taking breaks, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly can help reduce stress levels and increase productivity. Create a less stressful home by carving out a space for solitude and adding some indoor plants. Practicing self-care can also help entrepreneurs maintain a healthy work-life balance, which is crucial for long-term success and happiness. Starting a vegan business is a wonderful way to serve your community and earn a living doing something you’re passionate about, and with the right tools and resources, it’s much less complicated than ever before. Draft a business plan that includes your business structure, choose a good location, and build your business practices on promises you know you can keep. And be sure to prioritize self-care by keeping a healthy home and finding ways to relax. Photo via Pexels Our tie dye parties have been very popular recently, in these strange and unfamiliar times we’re happy to work in gardens or on patios or driveways, or even in garages!
From August 31st we can re-open again for social distanced workshops and small parties and we’ll continue to offer mobile parties, Mobile parties extra costs Our additional cost is not only to cover travel but it takes us longer to pack the equipment up, and then unpack it all once we’re back at the workshop also, of course this is extra work that we wouldn’t have to do when we’re running them from the workshop as everything’s to hand. Extra charge on average Glasgow £45 Edinburgh £25 Bathgate £20 Fife £35 Perth £45 Please feel free to email regarding other areas, larger parties may not incur as much Yep, our workshops and parties can restart, number will be kept small, PPE will be worn by staff and hand washing will be at a premium (as always)
www.ticketsource.co.uk/gooeyevents We’re SUPER excited to see you all again! We have no current parties running just now, for obvious reasons, and we understand how difficult it can be to not only entertain the kids keep them amused but educating them also, so we’ve come up with a few fun kits to combat both challenges by have a load of new chocolate making sets, ready for posting or picking up from our Livingston workshop.
Remember of course our chocolate making isn’t JUST for the kids, we can send these out to your teacher, makes a lovely birthday present for any chocoholic or even a treat for someone special. Simply pop to our buy page : Buy Well what a crazy ride we’re having here. in a year we’ve opened not one but TWO new premises and even though they’re both still under a bit of construction, we’re managing to run parties, workshops and events in both venues currently. Both venues are now unrecognisable from how we got them! In Livingston, we’ve pulled down some of the temporary (and very wobbly!) walls which were worrying us as they were just not safe. In September we found a consistent leak had been causing trouble in our kitchen, so this has now been completely ripped out and new cabinets added and flooring will be added as soon as it’s had enough time to try out. We’ve removed the ‘tanning and make up rooms’ and created more open space. There is a plan to remove the little room that we use for slime, but don’t fret as we have another better plan for this space. We’ve painted the walls white and still to add our ‘Gooey’ blue colour and colour changing lights. However, our new lighting looks just lovely and we’ve let a lot of natural light into the workshop. Armadale has also changed massively, we’ve changed the lighting, created a kitchen area with sinks and a lovely wooden worktop, plus our party room is bright and airy, we have an ongoing concern on one wall in this room, but we’re hoping this will be easily remedied. `we’ve painted the black walls to be white and of course one wall is our ‘Gooey’ blue to tie in with our logo. Who says this is just a party business! Livingston Before PicsLivingston After PicsArmadale Before PicsArmadale After PicsWell that’s it, it’s officially Halloween season now, our plans are :
Halloween BOO workshops (chocolate and goo) Glow-vember (slime and putty, glow in the dark) Seasonal bath bombs Christmas Slime Christmas Chocolate making for gifts Wonderful winter (all will be explained soon) All tickets can be purchased here : www.ticketsource.co.uk/gooeyevents Here’s a little updated version of our kids packages
Chocolate Making and Crafting Slime and Putty Chocolate and Slime Pampered Chocolat Tie Dye Bath bombs LIT (glow in the dark - only available in our venues as we have UV rooms and limited to 12 people maximum) These packages are great for various ages from age 4+ Currently not all are workshops but our workshops are updated constantly so be sure to keep a watch out for what’s happening soon! Our Armadale party venue is now looking very pretty with colour changing and twinkly lights, our electrician did a fantastic job, thanks Electric Al!
Our slime & putty making parties are going great with lots of fun, excitement and of course slime bubbles galore. The venue can be opened up for private events, corporate do’s and even the odd coffee morning so please feel free to get in touch regarding the venue hire. We’ve now moved our Gooey1 from Kirkton Campus to Livingston Village and the transformation already is amazing, we have a main room, a UV (glow in the dark) slime, putty and crafting room, toilets, staff room, kitchen and most importantly our own front door, in order to grow the business this has been a very important step for us and we’re continuing to grow and improve both the venues and the business as a whole.
Well this summer has been a whirlwind, we’ve now started work on a new party room and the direction of the business is changing slightly too. We’ll now have party staff and workshop staff and we’ll soon be able to run from both rooms instead of turning people away when we have a private party. I’m very excited about this prospect. We have mail chimp emails being sent out weekly and also we have a few more ‘team ups’ with other businesses including Appointedd, trip advisor, buyagift and even expedia! We’re still hoping to get signs put up, this is costly though so it’s on the back burner slightly. We started the new face mask package and we (believe it or not) have another couple of party packages starting soon also!
Work has now started in the new workshop, we’ll keep you posted with developments! In the meantime, please email us if you have any questions : [email protected] We’re having another ladies afternoon!
BOOK ASAP as chocolate making sessions include a complimentary glass of fizz, truffle making, and other treats and goodies to take home Over 18’s only, ID may be required as we have a check 25 policy. Book via : www.ticketsource.co.uk/gettinggooey We’ve announced that we are opening a NEW unit, this won’t be open for a few months and ALL party bookings will still be held in studio 14. Our new workshop will have a cafe, with hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and sandwiches, including kids sandwich packs for lunches. It will also have a separate 'chocolate lab’ and a dedicated workshop space for chocolate making for the general public as currently we’re only able to cater for one or the other. All going well, this will be open in time for the summer holidays but it means that party times will be reduced to get exclusive use of 'the chocolate lab’ where parents will not be able to attend when their children are in the lab, but be able to see them clearly though a glass window. We will also be able to sell items made by our staff from the lab. Ladies afternoons and private functions will also be available. As you can probably tell, we’re very excited about our new plans and although we have a lot of hard work in front of us, we’re hoping this will be a decent investment for both the business and Livingston as a whole as we will be employing staff for all sections of the business. However, please note we are NOT currently recruiting for this just yet. Alison x We now have a fair amount of stock made, from truffles to lollies and novelty items for Halloween and beyond. Pop in and have a look or take a look in our shop With the introduction of our shop also comes the choice of wedding and corporate favours, there is some foil wrapped love hearts, thank you chocolate’s and thank you lollies in stock, if you’d like us to make you some special truffles or something a little more unique however, please get in touch. Please remember that ALL our base chocolate is Belgian White, Milk or Dark chocolate only, this is reflected in the price but we’re still competitive. Our opening times have taken a stretch, instead of now Sunday only opening, we’re now open various times 6 days a week (closed Mondays) but we’re CLOSED during the 18th to the 25th of October and reopening Sunday the 26th of October for our Halloween sessions (check our special events page for full details) We have started our own TV channel ! It’s video’s of some of our parties and group sessions and shows the children having fun and a little mess. We’ll add to these video’s. Birthday parties have suddenly became very popular, we have bookings up until April 2015 so far. A mobile team will also be starting up for private functions outside of our workshop. Please remember you can also get a kit made up for the home, these are a great addition to our cocktail nights with www.thecocktailqueen.co.uk Please remember to follow us on facebook, it has more regular updates than the website, our twitter account is at @gettinggooey and finally... please remember to book before you arrive, we only have a limited amount of spaces per session.
So, it’s taken a while but we’re FINALLY open for business more than one day a week and no longer just a mobile business!
It’s taken a lot of planning but on 5th of July 2014 we finally opened our doors to the general public and can now confirm we’re West Lothian’s ONLY chocolate workshop! We’re currently only open at peak times like Friday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday's for the time being (until more find out about us!) Don’t be a stranger and please feel free to book in! |
